Over the last 3 months Gabi and I have been running around like crazy at different events and now things are finally slowing down and I can finally work on my computer again.

One of the things I’ve always wanted to do was improve the display setup.

I know, that probably looks fine to you, but it can be a pain in the ass to have them separate like that. So after drooling over it for a few months I finally ordered a 3 monitor mount.

The price for this was actually pretty low, a set up like this can run 200 bucks or more for one with feet and this one was less then 45.

The reason it’s cheaper is because if you look closely you’ll see that it’s designed to be screwed onto the edge of a normal desk and that doesn’t really work for most situations.

All this means to me is I have to mod it, so it’s time to get out the old vice and hack saw.

It took some effort and more time then I wanted but I was able to cut it by hand. It came out pretty even, but I also took the grinder to smooth it out and re painted it so it wouldn’t get rusty.

A little black paint left over form our bumper repair and it’s like new!

My desk has always had a hole in it for cables to run through and lucky enough it was the exact size and position I needed for the new mount. All I had to do was screw it down into the desk and it fit like a dream! The wires are even more organized then before too!

The secondary and tertiary screens are a little higher then I’m use to, but it’s so nice to have the extra space on the desk now, it’s going to make dusting so much easier and I don’t have to worry about them being all crooked compared to each other.

I have to admit, it’s a little more matrixy then I intended and since they are different brands they hang off the mounts differently but none of this is a problem, just unexpected.

So at the end of the day: very VERY happy! This is something I wanted for a long time and it’s nice to finally have it.

Up next is a good cleaning of the whole machine, it’s super dusty right now. After that I’ll tell you about the new networked drive I just installed downstairs.

All of this is leading up to the new wacko reviews by the way, filming begins soon!
