I originally wrote this for a thread on the colonial fleet, but I think it was good enough to post as my daily blog too:

You know those kickass 300 costumers at dragon?

I actually know those guys and they were a big inspiration to lose all the weight that I have. But now that I have, it’s time to set the bar even higher and go for spartan.

Since I’m making the plunge to have six pack abs, it seems only fair that I start a new thread to track that progress and hopefully be an inspiration to others, so here it is, the SPARTAN BY MEGACON thread. I encourage anyone to join me on this endeavor, helpful hints and criticisms are also welcome.

so let’s see.. where to start

I’m using the theories found in the book The Abs Diet

The idea is that the more muscle you have, especially in your center, the more fat you will burn to maintain that muscle. In other words, muscle is a luxury your body has to work hard to maintain. The more muscle you have, the more fat you’ll burn to keep it, even when you’re sleeping.

This book features a set of workouts to get your whole body in shape easily along with tips on food to buy and eat. That does mean I’m on “a diet” but it’s a diet you can stick with for life, it’s more of a way of looking at things then anything else. why eat that bag of potato chips when you can have all grain sunchips with only 10% of the calories instead? Not to mention if you eat more foods that help you build muscle, you’ll get more faster. It’s simply a matter of choosing lots of good healthy foods instead of a bunch of junk. Later, I’ll talk more about some of the things it recommends and how I chose to interpret that.

I’ve been on it for some time and except for going back to soda when in times of party or stress, I’ve stuck with it and feel better for it.

The second thing I should mention is that I’m not technically a spartan. Instead I’m going for Daxos the Arcadian and friend to the bold 300.

But saying Daxos by Megacon is just arguing semantics. he was the only actor to pass the 300 workout test during the movies training.

so I think that’s about it for now. I hope to use this thread as fuel for fire to make me get this done. I now personally know you guys so as soon as I click submit it’s a matter of pride to not fail.

oh, I have one other thing to show you
