In motion graphics class last month the instructor was good, but a bit outdated. He insisted that we use a codec for our projects that isn’t really supported anymore. Apple is into a new compression called h.264 and although he hated it, I think it’s far superior.

It’s clear as a freaking bell, and I’ve seen that TV be unkind to compression.

I see this kind of thing a lot in the school. Teachers get into teaching in a certain way and don’t really want to embrace new stuff.

It’s not that they’re really outdated. the whole point of Fulls Sail is that it’s cutting edge, and it is. I just find it funny that people will get so hardcore about a way of doing things.
