I just finished another motion graphics project, and if you haven’t figured it out yet, it was all about Jem!

Yes I made all of that, even posed the dolls. Gabi did the voice work, and I played with the audio to make her sound younger.

I had so much fun working on the project, I made a desktop wall paper from scratch just for fun.

I’m not really sure what compelled me to spend all night making that. It started out as just exporting the graphics I made for the commercial into something Gabi and other fans of Jem could use…

…and it just spun out of control into a full-on portfolio worthy project. It might have been a subconscious response to what one of the lab guys told me today.

“If you find something you’re good at, DON’T stop just because that class is over. Keep doing it in your spare time to sharpen that skill.”

But I’m not sure that was the reason. I think I would have done this if he had said that or not. I now have two examples that prove I can make illustrations for girls in my portfolio, and that will help me get work when the time comes.

I really REALLY like illustrator, I wish I had started using it years ago. If I had I would be a master of it now, I find it so damn easy to use.

Because of this project I now have high rez vector graphics of all the Jem logos and stuff, so if you ever need it, just let me know.
