I’ve never had this happen before but Netflix sent me Django Unchained the day it came out on DVD.

This movie was fantastic, I was blown away by how good it was.

This film is another brilliant entry in Tarantino’s body of work, it transcends the Western genre, deconstructs it, and brings it new life all at the same time.

my favorite part of film is the way the end game plays out.

Warning Spoilers Follow

The second half plays out as almost a different film, with Django and his partner King pulling a con to set Django’s wife Broomhilda free.

It’s a familiar goal and, because this is a movie, you know he’s going to succeed. What’s brilliant here is that the movie knows you know and twists it entirely.

It was never a question of if he’ll get out alive, it was if he would have to kill everyone in the house to do it.

Think about that for a second, if the villains win they will all be murdered. If the villains loose they get to live another day to do more evil.

Leonardo DiCaprio’s Calvin Candi didn’t know it, but he was betting his own life on the outcome of this deal.

This raised the tension to super high levels and I didn’t know what was going to happen next.

And I’m not going to tell you either, If you get a chance, check this movie out!
